Kid Icarus 2008 Game Hype
To the joy of many Nintendo fans, Pit, the star of the Kid Icarus series, was a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Ever since they first heard of this fact, people have hoped that Nintendo would finally give Kid Icarus an over-do sequel. Often referred to as a mix between Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, Pit is making a return according to IGN editor Matt Casamassina. He said in a blog or something that his new game would be out late 2008, and I guess it is supposed to be announced at E3. If it is true, it should be some awesome fun. Here’s hoping!
Factor 5 Was making a sequel but it was supposedly cancelled when factor 5 shut down…

i heard this guy in a interview who worked for Nintendo either slipped or dropped a hint about a kid Icarus game for 09.
No IGN was just wrong, IGN’s Nintendo Team relies only on rumors to provide “exclusive” news. That’s just one reason why many do not trust IGN’s Nintendo team as most of there news are only speculation and never come true.
A perfect example of this would be back early in the DS life span when IGN “predicted” Smash Bros going on the DS.
The fact that anyone trusted this rumors is almost a joke.
I think nintendos still on a mission to attract the casual gamer. So they know if there is something coming out the nintendo fanboys will find it. As for the casual gamers they need stuff thrown in their face before they know about it.

i read somewhere that it was coming out around december 2008.. i forgot what website but i was trying to find out its release date

I’m in agreement. A remake of the series has a good chance of being a great success. After all Pit “Jumps like Mario, shoots like Samus, and collects items like Link.” I’d stay with the Brawl design, or close to it. It depends on what outlook the game will want to achieve. More cartoony like Mario, or more realistic like Link and Samus. It would be big on exploration too.
Well, there’s no sign of such a game for 2008 so either IGN was wrong or it just wasn’t ready for viewing at E3 [like Zelda]

Actualy, Pit wasn’t made by Miyamoto. It was Gunpei Yokoi (maker of Metroid)

Isn’t it said to come out last month of this year? Or was that just a rumor too? I’m getting really confused about all this myself.
